About New Salem
map
The Town of New Salem Massachusetts was founded in 1753 and is located in Franklin County.

Those in the area should visit the Swift River Valley Historical Society for a piece of town history. Also visit the Bears Den which is a 100 foot deep gorge that was carved by the swift river cascading off granite cliffs and this was also said to be the meeting place for Indian Tribes.

The town remains to be a quiet rural bedroom community.

2014 Annual Meeting of the Corporation

The most important event we will be holding all year - the Annual Business Meeting of the Corporation. If you are a clergy person working in the diocese, or a lay delegate to ECM, you are invited to the Annual Meeting.

There is no registration fee and hearty refreshments will be served.

You may have heard or seen the Annual Business Meeting announced in other forums, but I want to make sure that you know a little bit of what to expect and understand that your presence is incredibly important to this work. Setting aside time for a meeting of the full corporation will allow us to present more complete reports of the work from the past year, and give time for clergy and delegates to ask questions and offer feed-back which will direct our work in the coming year. We will also be making time for a period of more intentional listening about where ECM is called to direct our work in the coming year.

Our deep hope is that by creating the space for the broader ECM Community to come together and do this work YOU and other delegates will respond to our call. Clergy and lay delegates have the right to influence our work through voice and vote and all are welcome to hear the reports and participate in conversation

The Economist's Health Care Forum

Health care is in a state of disruption, and the business opportunities are infinite. The Economist's second annual Health Care Forum will address the best business strategies for growth, innovation in care delivery and products, big data and investment opportunities.

Health care needs are at a turning point around the world. Populations are aging, costs are rising alongside spending, and governments are legislating new models. While technologies offer the promise of a solution, the pace of change in the health care industry has hit fast forward, and payers, providers and patients remain unclear about the impact of these changes for the future.

Now, a health care company is not simply defined as a doctors office, hospital or insurer. More and more companies are entering the health care space, including big-name innovators such as Google and Verizon. At the same time, the industry is becoming more globalized, as companies work across borders.
